Artistically free and independent, Dj ClicK realises his own projects from A to Z. He blends art and musical know how with image and endeavours to use the maximum of its capacity at the different stages of production to carry out boiling hot projects and to retain a coherent artistic identity through : Studio Recording, programmings and arrangements, Cover Design, Video montage and Video Clip, Press Photography, Radio shows and live concerts.

Inside his own label called NO FRIDGE, the label that is not afraid of the cold he launched with Myriam Kolinka, he always militates in favour of musical mix. Precise, he manages the artistic direction, always trying in his productions to combine the flavour of acoustics with electronic musics while still respecting the pieces of the traditional rhythmic.

Always off the current tracks, he interconnects different kind of world music with Hip Hop, Jazz and electronic music… No visa sessions which make the audience jump off the floor !

Since 2000 he has organised and programmed the Parisian BOUM BA CLASH parties (Batofar - Nouveau Casino – point éphémère…), which inspired him to start this new-trad collection of albums.

Boum-Ba-Clash

Boum Ba Clash : a no-border musical process which rallies artists from every horizon, is now presenting an electro-Oriental album. Gnawa Njoum Experience project was born following an improvised live party initiated by Dj ClicK where Gnawa Njoum (the Gnawa Stars) led by Maâlem Sedik Laarch, one of the new Gnawa generation’s representative, played for the first time with Dj’s and musicians of the electronic scene. This mixing of cultures is now retranscribed into 14 original studio tracks : a trip into dub – breakbeat – drum’n’bass and traditional rhythmic trance. During two weeks of recording nursed by stew and mint tea, the three Moroccan musicians (Vocal / Guimbri : dromedary skin doublebass like instrument / Karkabas : metal kind of castagnettes) locked themselves in the studio where they operated a real exchange work, far beyond mere remixes. Dj Click and his collective have found a subtle balance of groove, mix and electronic programming in production while still respecting the original pieces.
